Cape Cod Roofing Scam Report - Cape Cod Roofing & Siding Skip Schiappa/Owner When asked to provide references and guarantee his work, Skip sent bizarre email. Has poor work history.

We SUPPORT the below posting in response to an anonymous tirade left on scamexposure.com -

"I have to agree that if it's one or two bad reviews, then it can be overlooked as not everyone is going to be happy, and there are just some people in this world who simply like to complain about everything. I have to side with the owner Skip, in that, if you have a legitimate grievance against him, post your real name or better yet, take him to court and sue him. Blasting people on the internet anonymously is cowardly, and also, how do we know all the negative comments are from one single person with a vendetta?

Conclusion: If Skip Schiappa screwed you over, sue him in court. Trying to ruin his reputation online under a alias is not the way to go."

Business grievances should be dealt with in court NOT on anonymous chat boards!!!

Our Response to a vicious complaint by person who would rather take to the internet rather than a court of law. Our stance as always: If you have a legitimate grievance, then bring it to the courts. By avoiding the courts and taking the "issue" to anonymous website forums gives the impression the person has a personal vendetta NOT a legitimate complaint.

"A lawyer is always in need of being the smartest person in the room... and apparently on the roof as well. Phil Bateman: Attorney Hyannis, MA, no website, no contact info, not relevent in his community and apparently retired with nothing to do but talk down and about people... in this case... a roofer who provided time, advice and a written legal quote to perform work. The above partial (some conveniently left out by Attorney Bateman) diatribe speaks for itself on both sides of the fence.

Not for nothing Attorney Bateman... but the first time you hired a contractor you apparently got screwed... being intoxicated while meeting or communicating with them/me apparently doesn't do you any favors... especially this time around... put the bottle down, brush or Scope your mouth and you might get away with the alcohol problem. Next time: Be sobor and coherent."

Ripoff Report | Cape Cod Roofing And Siding | Complaint Review: 235050

Cape Cod Roofing & Siding Customer Review

Long wait but well worth it!

AUTHOR: Brookline Client - (United States of America)

We recently put in a very expensive ceramic roof on our house in Brookline and feel compelled to respond to this client report.  The crew that Skip Schiappa brought to the house was superb.  There was never any debris left after each day of work and the attention to detail was outstanding.  We do understand the frustration of the client who reported her issues with this company and agree that interacting in a combative way with the contractor is not the route to success.  Skip is very emotional and takes his work very seriously so that if differences arise he is apt to respond defensively via an email exchange.  Face to face he is very responsive and has wonderful ideas that go above and beyond what one can expect from a typical roofer. His work is excellent and he is committed to making things right in the end so both he and the client is happy with the job.  The only criticism that we have is in staging of the job as it took much longer than expected or estimated.  This was truly frustrating but if you are not in a rush and the quality of the job is the most important thing, than we certainly recommend this company for your job.

Skip Schiappa Complaints - Google Search Results

FLASH: The internet is a dangerous place!

Anyone and everyone can post comments about a business. As always, a business will appreciate positive feedback about their service. However, it can be detrimental to a business when a person decides to post negative feedback on the internet.

Could the negative feedback be true? Absolutely! Nobody is perfect, and, at times, there can be mix up or misunderstanding that can be blown completely out of proportion.

This is why RULES and REGULATIONS need to be changed regarding anonymous posting. Anonymous comments give people the courage to spout anything and everything. A person can trash a business purely out of spite with no repercussions as they are anonymous and no one knows who they are... fair, right?

What We Suggest:

Eliminate anonymous postings on business review websites:

  • Yelp.com
  • Yellow Pages (yp.com)
  • Google Reviews
  • Ripoffreport.com
  • Scaminformer.com
  • Yahoo.com
  • MerchantCircle.com

These are just some websites... there are more, but you get the point!

We believe if you have a legitimate gripe against a business, you should have to attach the following to your comments:
  1. FULL NAME
  2. LOCATION
  3. ADDITIONAL PROOF (documentation to back up negative claims)
It is only fair if our name is out there, yours should be, too! Why hide under an anonymous name when you have a legitimate gripe? Better yet, why take to the internet when you have the option to go to court?

Just something to think about...

Skip Schiappa - Cape Cod Roofing & Siding - scamInformer.com -

Once again, we have to defend ourselves against those who choose to not come forward and put their name out there to back their claims.

The person who posted this chose not to put their full name but rather call out Cape Cod Roofing & Siding and publish Skip Schiappa. We're not afraid of responding. We just prefer if you have a problem, sign your name to it.
